Laureus – the most important social engagement of Mercedes-Benz
We believe that every human being has the potential to shape their world and improve their prospects for the future. As a company that more than any other represents the genesis of individual mobility, we rely on the power of movement and the social linking effect of sports.
For this reason Daimler AG launched the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation in 2000. In the meantime it has become a global movement. With the more than 150 sports projects of Laureus, we are currently supporting more than 1.5 million children and adolescents in 35 countries. Nine national Laureus foundations (in Germany/Austria, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Argentina, South Africa, the USA and China) and the global Laureus Foundation provide the financial means for this year after year.
The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation “moves” young people around the globe. More than 150 prominent Laureus Ambassadors and the 50 high-profile members of the Laureus Academy act as role models and work as volunteers. We have thus created a flagship project in the area of corporate social responsibility. For 15 years it has been proved again and again how worthwhile it is to make a joint and long-standing commitment to a better world.
